![]() It was a lovely filled Mother’s Day weekend for all. As I have grown older, Mother’s Day has become to mean more to me each year. In high school, I had days where I hated my mom. I mean, seriously hated her. In college, I had a few days where she annoyed me or just drove me crazy. Now that I am an “adult” (LOL), I call my mom daily. I have 4357438 billion questions about adulthood and need her opinion/help with everything. How long should you bake salmon for? What type of insurance should I get? What should I wear for a business meeting? Will I be single forever? I am the annoying one now. Our first relationship is the bond we have with our mom. As women, we focus so much on our relationships with men that we forget our first love was her. This is a relationship we all recognize as important, but hardly honor. We wanted to dress and put makeup on like her, work like her and love like her. When puberty hits, blessing us with curves and curls, we leave the loving mommy phase and turn to the “MOMMMMMMMMMMMM!” rebel stage. If we’re lucky, we find our way back to the very beginning again.
