I love to travel! After eating, travelling is the most important thing in life. I live for adventure, whether it’s cooking a new meal or exploring a new place.

As I prepare for our next trip (I’m thinking Iceland), I have taken a moment to look back on my favorite foodie destinations.

New Orleans 

I fell in loveeeeee with Naw Aleans (that’s how I actually pronounced it and yes, everyone knew I was tourist). The culture, people, and food of the city is so unique. I was mesmerized by the French roots, Voodoo spirit, Native American history and southern traditions. It’s truly a special place. The French Market is stocked with foodie finds where I enjoyed jambalaya and crawfish etouffee. A trip is not complete without heading to Cafe du Monde for some golden beignets. You also need to pay respect to pralines, po boys, Hurricanes and Grenades.

Paris 

Everyone should fall in love in Paris, at least once. Luckily, I fell in love with the city itself. Paris is as beautiful at it is sexy. It is delicious as it is mysterious. I could eat 60 loaves of bread a day in Paris and feel fully satisfied. Everything you eat in Paris is pure perfection. Sometimes, the French really are better than the rest of us.

Budapest 

As a Polish girl, I adore Eastern European cuisine. The other half of Europe gets no credit for its incredible food and traditions. When I visited Budapest, I had zero expectations as I had never even heard of the city until I arrived in Belgium for my study abroad semester. To say I fell in love with Budapest would be a major understatement. I would move there next week. Besides goulash, the country has fun foodie treasures from their fried dough with sour cream and garlic to their chocolate filled with cottage cheese. I tried it all and never looked back! My favorite is their poppy seed roll, a pastry filled with sweet poppy seeds. This is a popular Eastern European treat that I also found on my trip to Poland.

Brussels, Belgium 

The capital of Europe boasts French food in German proportions. Translation: Damn good food and a lot of it. I’m bias because I studied there for the best five months of my life, but this hidden gem of a country has amazing food that is highly influenced by French cuisine. Above all, they have the best beer in the world. FACT.

Nashville 

Nashville is one dope place. It reminds me of a hot Brooklyn. The city has fully embraced the Eat Local movement and executes it with a twang. Honestly, every meal I had while exploring the city was fantastic. Go and go now.
