Here's your typical "This year I'm thankful for..." Thanksgiving post. However, I figure each year we are ready to enjoy the turkey, so why not enjoy the expected "This year I'm thankful for..." blog post? My thoughts exactly.
This has been a great past year, my Michael Jordan year (I'm 23 duh!) has lived up to the hype, a journey full of thrills, accomplishments, challenges and heartbreak. We have a lot to be thankful for, each and every one of us. This month, I am striving to take a few moments to bask in gratefulness as I countdown the days until mashed potatoes and apple pie. My entire being is thankful right now due to all of this greatness that surrounds me... My Roof In NYC, I share a lot of my space with the homeless, so let me tell you, it is a big deal to have a roof over your head and a bed under your head. My apartment may not be lavish and I may not own a kitchen table, but it is my home. A place where I am warm, safe (...most of the time...) and content. I love you my sexy roof. Female Mentors I am very blessed to work in an industry that is dominated by women. I am even more blessed to work with so many kind, talented and inspiring women who help me grow everyday. There's no cattiness in my world, and I am so thankful that the leading ladies in my life act the part. Food Damn, food really fricken' rocks. I have created so many delicious, heart and soul warming meals this past year with local ingredients and Pinterest ideas. Thank you for keeping me happy, full and healthy... for the most part. My Job It is a blessing to love where you work, like the people you work with and above all, enjoy what you do. Thankful doesn't begin to cover it. #blessed. The Gym Joining a gym this fall was the best decision I've made since buying the Caitlyn Jenner Vanity Fair issue. A visit to the gym cleanses me in places I didn't know existed. Fabulous Friends I'm talking about the people you call when you're crying after losing a battle in love or stressed about a tiny work email. These are the ones that help you find your way back to yourself. Those friends are the loves of my life. Drake and Tea Sometimes, a girl needs to throw on a turtleneck, sip a cup of tea and listen to Drake speak the truth.
