Ah, the holidays have finally arrived with all the Christmas cheer the world beholds. Tis the season for all sorts of PR craziness: holiday parties, client events, recap reports, 2016 planning and coworker gifting decisions. Throw in personal life obligations and keeping up with Mariah’s Christmas bashes, damn, you’re in for one insane month.
Here are my tips on how to not turn into Mr. Grinch this year. Or Trump. Be Picky I’m sure you’re as popular as me (that’s very popular) with holiday parties galoreeee. These events are super fun, but can also be super exhausting. Pick and choose your celebrations wisely to avoid grumpiness and extra pounds (sadly those dranks do a number on the waistline). Keep in mind there’s no need to stay the entire time, sometimes an appearance is all that’s needed. Channel Santa, not Sasha Fierce I’m all about finding your inner Sasha Fierce, but sometimes she’s a little too feisty for the office. When your To Do list rivals Santa’s naughty list, take a moment and breathe. Play some Mimi. Scroll through Insta. Do not freak out on an innocent coworker. Be an Early Fitness Elf Getting up early to workout can be ROUGH, buttttt holiday happy hours pop up like your aunt’s fruit cake. It’s good to be prepared and squeeze in an early workout so you can enjoy cheer guilt-free. Pace Yourself One Advent day at a time y’all. Do a little holiday shopping, wrapping, eventing each day so December 23rd isn’t the worst day of your life. Celebrate! It is time to be jolly, so glide on some lipstick and smile! You have the rest of the year to keep it real.
