Who doesn’t love to #brunch? Every weekend, I am bound to scroll through at least a few mouthwatering brunch photos on Instagram that remind you how powerful the in-between meal is. It has the luxury of serving up comforting breakfast staples at the relaxing time of lunch.
The best of both worlds. I love sleeping in on a Sunday in the summer’s warm sun rays… and then not having to leave my apartment for brunch. Who says you can’t enjoy an Instagram worthy bottomless meal at home? Throw a brunch bash for your buddies or celebrate the day of rest with pancakes in bed. Here are my favorite ways to serve up the most important meal of the day. Timing is Everything If you want to invite the crew, pick a sleep-in friendly hour. One time, my friend invited me for brunch at 8 AM. That is BREAKFAST NOT BRUNCH. I almost spit up my mimosas when she said 8 AM. No one wants to chit chat about Saturday night at 8 AM. Select any time after 11 AM for a beautiful brunch bash. Set the Scene If I were to direct a movie focused around brunch starring Chris Pratt and myself, the table would be set perfectly with a bright tablecloth and a bouquet of daisies. If you make the atmosphere feel fun and glorious, no one will notice the runny eggs. Pancake Princess Pancakes are essential for any brunch outing. If you’re entertaining, grab fun ingredients and toppings for a pancake party. Scoop up some bananas, blueberries, chocolate chips and apples to toss in the batter and then whip cream, syrup, sprinkles and ice cream to top it off. Nothing beats pancakes in bed for those flying solo on Sunday. Drink Up Summer Taste the sun and fun with a little twist on the classic mimosa. Buy some raspberry or strawberry lemonade and combine with Prosecco. Top with a few berries! Yum. Egg Throwdown Challenge your friends to bring eggs served up any style they want! Predict who will bring them sunny side up or who will be fancy and bring a quiche. Snap a Pic Show off your homemade brunch with an envious Instagram or Twitter pic. Those who are spending $$$ for their brunch will feel dumb no doubt.
